Product Description

French Model 1866 Chassepot sword Bayonet, this example was made in February 1872. Note, the markings on the spine of the blade read, “ Tulle Fevrier 1872 “ in cursive. This bayonet/sword is in very rough shape, but definitely one of the more interesting looking bayonets of the time. You could keep this and display it on a wall, or as some people have with one like this example (poor condition), modify it into a unique hunting knive or a collectible knive (may require extra work done to the blades and handles i.e. shortening, polishing etc). The large brass handle really does catch the eye. Please look at the photos, it is what it is. But still very cool! No international shipping. Shipping costs will be determined by location and date of sale. Thanks for looking!
