J.H. Hall Dated 1839. .52 Cal. Barrel condition is the typical dark bore with no pitting. Wood is in good condition. Barrel has light rust. The JH Hall design was the first breach loading rifle. The Hall rifles were originally made in 1819 as a flintlock. This one has had the barrel cut down to 19 13/16 length, which was typical by the North and the South for use as a Cavalry Carbine.
