Product Description

WALTHER MODEL 9 CHAMBER IN .25ACP OR 6.35mm Browning.

This a Walther model 9, (baby 9), Vest Pocket 25ACP pistol. Please note that in Europe they call .25acp = 6.35mm Browning. These were made from 1921-1945 so it qualifies for C&R. It was produced in Germany most likely in 1930's (total amount produced was 250,000 roughly). They are a collectible and unusual firearm. One of the so-called handbags (Handtasche Pistole) or vest pocket pistol for its small size and caliber. This is a small gun!

Dimensions: length 4.02", height 2.76", width 0.790", weight 9.0 oz.

This pistol features a 2” barrel, fixed sights, a removable 6-round magazine with a metal bottom plate.

This example has the proof mark with a Crown over an N. It has no Nazi proof marks. There are no military proofs or import marks on the pistol.

It was brought to the U.S.A. by a young female Red Cross Volunteer after WWII. She landed in Normandy and drove a truck with food & candy for the American GIs till the end of the war. Her Daughter brought it in.

The gun features a cocked firing pin indicator on the back, backlite style grips, which are in good condition with good checkering, but no banner logo for “Walther” on either one, as well as the “emblem plate” is missing on one side and on the other, glue up-side down. These may have been WWII era replacements. This one has a nice-looking blue finish, appx 80% to 90% left, most wear is on the bottom frame & top of barrel, etc., clean bore with good rifling, and a nice condition un-marked Walther magazine. No import marks as well.

It came with two leather holsters! The thinner one fits in the bigger thicker one. They are soft brown leather; one strap needs new stitching. Both are period holsters. They are surprisingly in good shape for being 80 some years old.

The left side of the slide has "Walther's Patent MOD. 9” “Walther” inside the banner logo. And the right “Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (Thur.)”
