The Gewehr 98 (G98) was a rifle originally made by Mauser and was the standard issue rifle in Germany from 1898-1935. The rifle was chambered in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57) and took a 5 round stripper clip. This firearm saw use in the Boxer Rebellion, World War I, and some use in WWII.
For your bidding pleasure is one such G98. This one was manufactured in 1917 and may have seen some use in later part of WWI. Wooden stock has dings and scratches throughout indicative of use. The receiver and bolt show signs of moderate discoloration. Barrel has signs of MINOR/SURFACE level pitting. Bolt, safety, adjustable rear sight and trigger all appear to work as they should. Butt-stock appears to be in its original configuration. Comes with a REPRODUCTION leather strap. All parts match EXCEPT the safety. This rifle is in firing condition and was fired recently.
