The Mauser company was originally founded in 1811 by Wilhem and Paul Mauser in what is modern day Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The first rifle they released for commercial production was the Mauser-Norris Model 67/69 Rifle. While that was the first, it certainly wouldn't be the last rifle they made, for they developed notorious firearms such as the Model 1871, the Spanish M93, the Swedish 1894, and the notorious M98 (which itself gave rise to several variants).
The Argentine Mauser Model 1909 (M1909 Argentine) was developed for the military of Argentina and based on the M98. The two main differences include the tangent leaf sight on the Argentine and the fact that it could accept M1891 bayonets. For sale here is one such M1909 Argentine Mauser (based on the M98) chambered in 7.65×53mm. All parts seem to match with the exception of the bolt. Overall the rifle is in decent shape. Minor discoloration on metal parts and some discoloration/pitting on follower. Wood is in ok shape for the age with dings and (minor) scratches throughout. We have run 7/65x53 snap-caps through this rifle and it appears to function (feeding, firing, and extracting) as it should. The safety appears to function properly.
