SOLD This is an original short pattern Confederate Artillery Sword! While Union swords were finely made, this simple and robust design is typical of Confederate manufacturing. The sword shown hereis a unique find that can add hisorosity and uniqueness to your collection! Swords such as the one pictured here were often produced by small southern arms manufacturers and given to Confederate artillery officers as a sign of their rank. It also had practical use and would typically be used for clearing brush and similar tasks. This sword has a total length of 25 inches with a blade length just under 20 inches. It also has "44" engraved on the brass handle. The handle has 9 raised ridges. It does not come with a scabbard. This item has some wear & tear and a few dings but is in great condition overall. SOLD 09/2023
