During WWII the Soviet Union saw the need to develop a new intermediate cartridge for use in it's rifles and LMGs. Development began in 1943 and small batches began production in 1944. By 1947 the 7.62x39 round we know and recognize today entered full production in the Soviet Union. It would eventually become one of the most prolific intermediate cartridges ever invented. While most famously associated with the AK47/AKM and the SKS, a multitude of firearms were chambered in the cartridge. Manufacturers such as SIG, CZ, Ruger, etc. still produce modern firearms chambered in this cartridge.

For sale here are (2) boxes of Lapua Brand 7.62x39 cartridges. What mkaes this special? First, Lapua is has been known for producing high quality ammo since 1923. Seond, Lapua no longer produces 7.62x39. These rounds have brass cases are loaded with 123grain FMJ bullets. PRICE IS PER BOX (2 boxes available)!!! Actual weight is 1.25lbs.
