The Remington Model 8 (released originally as the "Remington Autoloading Rifle") was released in 1905. Designs for the rifle were patented by John Browning who sold the patent to Remington in 1900. They were produced both by Remington in the US and FN in Belgium (under the model name "FN 1900"). The Model 8 saw use amongst hunters and law enforcement officers, who often used modified versions with larger magazines. Texas Ranger Frank Hamer used a modified Model 8 with a 15 rounds magazine, which was used in the final shootout with notorious crime duo Bonney and Clyde!

For auction here is one such Remington Model 8. This is a model with a standard 5 round magazine. Metal is in decent shape with some scratched and discoloration throughout. Wood is in ok shape with scratches and dings throughout. It has one sling swivel. This particular Model 8 was modified; at some point in its life a Lyman Sight was added to act as the rear sight. Based on the serial number this rifle appears to have been produced between 1910-1911. Bore is in great shape! Overall length is 41in, barrel length is 22in. This rifle is in "Very Good" condition!
