Loading... Please wait...Blades have been a staple of warfare since the dawn of time and the invention of firearms didn’t initially change that. Bayonets, blades that can be attached to the barrels of firearms have been in use since the late 16th or early 17th century (depending on the source). While bayonets are infrequently used in modern warfare, many modern firearms still possess bayonet lugs and many modern militaries still train soldiers in their use, mostly for controlling prisoners and last-ditch defenses.
For sale here is an interesting bayonet. This appears to be a Japanese Type 30 style "training" bayonet. Unlike othere Japanese bayonets there appear to be no factory marks and the blade is blunt. The blade length is about 15.5in and has moderate amounts of discoloration. Blade is bent just above the qullion. The handle is in decent shape overall. Comes with a metal sheath that is black in color.
This is an excellent way to get a start with collecting bayonets and is a great purchase for lovers of Japanese war memorabilia!
