Type 99 short Rifle

Rifle is in nice shape. Serial #39438 made in the Kokura Arsenal, 592,000 were made by Kokura Arsenal. Note! Matching Serial #s thought out. Only 50% of the Chrysanthemum is left, this is an end of war surrender rifle. Very nice example of an early WWII type 99 rifle. It is missing it’s cleaning rod. Early two screw front barrel band. Has the mid barrel band with monopod fixture but never had a monopod installed? It has early front sight protectors (Ears). Rear sight is the Aircraft type but the wings for it were never installed. Very early Safety knob with the nicer checking pattern. Early sling swivels installed. Cupped, two screw butt plate, early. Wood is matching and has a nice color but shows war time dings and dents. Bore is shiny and shows great rifling. Overall a very nice piece. FFL or C&R needed. Please call to order.
