This is a German medal is for the dedication of a monument on July 3 1927 for the 15th Royal (or King's) infantry unit established in 1722. This veterans’ medal, measuring 1 1/8″ in diameter, it shows the King or a solider in the 1720s uniform and a WWI solider in combat helmet and uniform, below a shield with two years 1722 & 1919. The unveiling was on (European date style) "3 July 1927" to honor the 15 Infanterie Regiment of König Friedrich August (III) von Sächsen. Please note there was no "Germany" as a country till after Bismarck unified the in 1871ish.

The regiment was created in 1722 and was garrisoned at Neuburg on the Donau (a.D.). It was attached to the Bavarian I Armeekorps. It was disbanded in 1919, after WWI and the abdication of the Kaiser. The medal’s obverse features a high-relief rendition of the monument. The upper half’s edge sports the following words, “Denkmals Enthüllung K. B. 15. I. R. Neuburg a. D.,” while the date “3 July 1927” appears across the bottom. Its reverse is plain, except for a hallmark listing the manufacturer’s name and location, “C. Poellath” in “Schrobenhausen” (Bavaria). Poellath was a well-known Bavarian maker of high-quality decorations and Bavarian Badges. The medal has an eyelet at the top that you can attached a slender chain
