The Lee-Enfield rifle was designed by James Lee and the Royal Small Arms Factory (RSAF), located in Enfield. Production on the MLE variant began in 1895 and the SMLE variant was produced from 1904-1957. This was the standard issue rifle of the British Military and it's colonies for 60 years. The Lee-Enfield saw action in the "Second Boar War", WW1, WW2, the Korean War, and a multitude of other conflicts! It was primarily chambered in 303 British but some oddballs exist chambered in other cartridges, inlcuding a variant chambered in 410. Some of the things that make the No. 4 MK1 different from preceding models is it's flattened left side, a lack of checkering on the stock, a barrel that protruded from the forend, an aperture sight, and was slightly heavier and sturdier. 

For sale here is a Lee Enfield No.4 MK1 rifle. This one was produced by ROF (Rolyal Ordnance Factory) Maltby in November of 1945. There is some slight discoloration on the metal parts, and some minor scratched on the stock and forearm. On the left side of the reciever there is a stamp reading "NO. 4 MK 1." There's an import stamp that reads "C.I.A. GEORGIA VT CAL. .303 ENGLAND SER. MK412654". On the left side of the reciever just above the trigger there's a stamp that reads "AM 18050". The magazine follower appears to have "M-8" stamped on it. This rifle is in good condition and is ready for the range!
