Loading... Please wait...The Ruby pistol was a semi-automatic pistol of .32ACP calibre made by Gabilondo y Urresti and other Spanish companies. It saw use in both World Wars as the service weapon of the French Army under the name "Pistolet Automatique de 7 millim.65 genre 'Ruby'". The pistol was closely modeled after John Browning's 1903 Pocket Hammerless design produced by Colt. The French Army decommissioned it in 1958.- Wikipedia
This particular Ruby pistol is rather unique. The original grips have been replaced with clear-plastic grips. Inside of each grip is a picture of a woman. The picture on the right side of the grip shows a clothed woman, and the picture on the left depicts a nude woman. These are often reffered to as "Sweet Heart Grips" and while Americans were the most notorious for making these, soldiers from many nations and fronts would create these to keep their loved ones close, even in the field of battle. The grips are in decent shape. The plastic grips lead us to believe this is a WWII era pistol. The metal parts have some dings, scratches, and wear from use. All matching serial numbers. WE DO NOT RECCOMEND FIRING THIS PISTOL. This should be considered a "collectable". DO NOT FIRE THIS PISTOL UNTIL A GUNSMITH HAS EXAMINED IT. Actual weight 1lb 13oz
